for Continuous Improvement |
Glad Park P.S. is committed to supporting the Board's literacy focus
under the three Board focus areas of Quality Schools, Building Family
and Community Capacity and Quality Workplaces.
The following is an outline of our school's Plan for Continuous
Improvement including highlights of some of the strategies to support
student achievement.
Our School Improvement Plan
Our School's Plan for Continuous Improvement is focussed on the following
areas:
- Curriculum Implementation: We will continue to focus on improving
literacy skills with particular emphasis on writing and reading achievement in
all grades JK-8.
- Parental and Community Involvement: We will continue to focus on
creating a dynamic School Council that represents the interests of all GPPS
students, as well as reaching out to our community at large.
- Effective Schools: We are focusing on improving school climate
through student leadership activities and character education initiatives.
Student participation in the life of the school is encouraged and applauded.
Student improvement and achievement are recognized in many ways. Some of
these ways include:
- Student of the Month Assemblies for Academic Achievement
- Morning Announcements
- Reading Assessments
- Running Records
- Volunteer support for student achievement
- Yearly Awards
- In School Team meetings to provide additional support for some students
- Class Certificates
- EQAO Results
- Observation of Behaviour/Work Habits
- Report Card data
- Student, staff and parent surveys
- Win-It Certificates for participation in school life
